Our Take On The Pickup Sales Numbers
Of the pickups to have reported their sales figures for August 2018, just one failed to grow its sales year-on-year.
Nissan Frontier sales fell by 1.38% – but its full-size sibling, the Titan more than weighed out the difference with a 32.28% increase, helping Nissan brand pickups, SUVs and crossovers to an August record in the process.
F-Series continues to push ahead at the top, with Ford reporting a16th consecutive month of sales gains for its flagship pickup.
The Ram pickup and Toyota Tundra also bolstered gains for full-size pickups in August, though without GM’s figures growth across the portion of the market is not reflected in the second chart below.
