Total sales across the segments below have increased by 11.6% year-to-date, as the first half of 2018 draws to a close.

Luxury SUVs is a lucrative market at the moment, bringing high margins for automakers as a wave of consumer confidence nudges buyers away from small and midsize luxury sedans and into their SUV counterparts.

Between its X1 and X2 models, BMW has a 44.76% share of the subcompact luxury SUV market, with the X2 cracking 2000 units and going second in the chart for June.

The GLC-Class, Mercedes-Benz sales leader last month, leads the compact luxury SUV sales chart with a steep 77.2% year-on-year increase in its sales. Volvo’s XC60 describes a steep growth curve too, doubling its sales on last June as it closes out Q2 having sold 63.7% more vehicles than by this point last year.

With GM’s figures re-entering the chart at the end of June, the Cadillac XT5 reveals a strong performance averaged out across the quarter, leaving it 7% up at the halfway point and comfortably second in the midsize luxury SUV sales chart in terms of year-to-date sales volume.
