Our Take On The Pickup Sales Numbers

May was an interesting month for those pickup truck nameplates that reported.

Honda’s Ridgeline pickup saw sales fall 2.1% year-on-year despite spikes in sales for the Japanese manufacturer’s overall truck division after surging SUV sales.

Meanwhile, America’s favourite vehicle in terms of sales – the Ford F-Series pickup – increased sales over 10% year-on-year. Last month marks the F-Series best May since the millennium, while Ford indicated the pickup’s average transaction price simultaneously increased over $1400 for the month.

The Ram pickup, second-placed in terms of volume moved for the month, saw year-on-year growth in its sales figures for the first time in over seven months.
