Our Take On The Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicle Sales Numbers

In February, the F-Series was head, shoulders and belly button ahead of the rest of the field; over 25,000 more F-Series were sold in February than its closest competitor, the Chevrolet Silverado, which returned to 2016’s levels after a 17% year-on-year increase for February 2017 was eroded for last month.

Even combining sales of the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado only halves the F-Series’ lead, demonstrating just how complete its dominance of the market is.

A 15% year-on-year increase in sales for the Nissan Rogue keeps it firmly in third place in the US countdown, as it swaps fortunes with the Ram Pickup, once again in fourth.

After that it goes passenger car – crossover – crossover – passenger car with the Toyota Camry managing to outsell the RAV4 in February – the RAV4’s best February on record – while the Honda Civic failed to do the same with its crossover brethren the CR-V.

Last February, the top-30 featured the Hyundai Sonata in 22nd and the Subaru Forester in 28th. Both fail to appear in this February’s top-30, with the Forester narrowly missing out in 32nd place after a 9.2% year-on-year decrease in sales volume, and the Sonata not even close, with its sales slashed by 54.2% of last February’s total leaving it 60th overall.

They are replaced by the Honda Pilot – taking 30th place with a 48.9% year-on-year increase in sales, and the Mazda CX-5, catapulted into 25th after growing its sales almost 70% on last year’s total.

Mazda had its best February of sales in the USA since 1994 last month, which it attributes mainly to the uptick in sales of the CX-5.
