Our Take On The SUV sales Numbers

The Nissan Rogue takes the crown in the SUV countdown from the RAV4, although Toyota will be quick to point out that it maintains its growth streak of eleven for eleven in 2017.

With only one month of sales to go, it could be close for the top-selling SUV of 2017 between the pair. If the RAV4 has another month of sales like November, and the Rogue repeats its staggering 40k-plus sales from last year, things could get very close indeed.

The Ford Escape and Explorer each climb a place, with both posting in the green for November 2017 while the Chevrolet Equinox falls to sixth after sales fell 8.9% year-on-year.

The Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee each made a return to growth in 2017’s eleventh month too, with the latter selling 8% more year-on-year, and the former an impressive 44.2% more.

Rogue sales are apples to oranges as Nissan combines Rogue and Rogue Sport sales. Sales of these two distinctly different vehicles should be reported separately for a fair comparison to be made.
