Our Take On The Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicle Sales Numbers

The Ford F-Series remains almost peerless in the Top-30 top-selling vehicles in the USA for October. Almost 23,000 sales separate Ford’s flagship pickup from its next best-selling rival, the Chevrolet Silverado; as many as the Ford Escape SUV sold over the same time period.

The interesting clash in October near the top of the table is between the Honda Civic and Nissan Rogue. Both have posted impressive growth year-on-year, but the Civic just edged out the Nissan SUV in October. Year-to-date, the Rogue outdoes the Civic by over 12,500 units.

Subaru’s entries in the top-30 – the Outback and the Forester – bot posted meaningful drops year-on-year; October was the first month in over a year that the Outback has fallen by more than 1%, with sales down 12.3% on a year ago, while the Forester’s sales have dropped off quite sharply every month since July’s end, despite a summertime refresh to the 2018 model-year versions of both.

The Forester platform is ageing now – the last time it received a full-on revamp was 2014 – but a new model is due for 2019.
