No surprise for the Toyota RAV4 to take the top spot in our Top 20 Best-Selling SUVs in Canada for August. The RAV4 has outsold the 2nd-placed Honda CR-V every month since March in the Canadian market, and this month sees it outdo the Honda by nearly 300 registrations, as well as posting 6.7% year-on-year growth.
The Mazda CX-5 sits pretty in 6th position, after August was its best month of the year. It slots in just behind the Hyundai Tucson, which has seen sales rise by over 67% on last August’s 1,645 registrations.
For the most impressive growth in the Top 20 SUVs, it’s the Volkswagen Tiguan we need to look to. Year-on-year, registrations of the Tiguan have shot up 154.7%, as the second generation Tiguan has proven immensely popular. August was its best month ever, with sales topping 2,000 for a single month for the first time for the VW in Canada.
Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs and crossovers can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC’s Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well.
