Small SUV Sales In America - August 2017

The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox has proven quite the winner with US consumers. The new model came pretty close to doubling its sales year-on-year in August, with 84.9% growth on that month's sales.

The Hyundai Tucson also saw success with a strong month in August granting it 28.3% year-on-year growth. August was the first month since May that the Tucson posted figures below the 10k mark, meaning it remains considerably ahead of its YTD for the first eight months of 2016.

In the Subcompact SUVs & Crossovers segment, the Subaru Crosstrek posted its best month of 2017 in August, with 45.9% year-on-year growth lifting its YTD to within 2,000 sales of the Honda HR-V.

The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better. This explains why you'll see the Encore and XV Crosstrek are listed with small cars, too, and the pricey FJ Cruiser and Xterra with midsizers, as well... because readers have wanted it both ways. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts.
