Canada Auto Sales Brand Rankings – August 2017 YTD

Toyota Motor Corporation outsold Hyundai Kia Group in August, after the Korean automakers suffered a 2% drop on August 2016’s sales. Sales of Hyundais have fallen on the equivalent month in 2016 every month this year, while demand for Kias remains strong in the Canadian market.

There were more vehicles sold by Toyota Motor Corp than Fiat Chrysler through August too, though the Japanese corporation is still behind in cars sold to date in 2017.

Most notably of all though is that General Motors outsold Ford Motor Company in August. We reported last month that GM was coming close to outselling Ford brands in Canada and with August marking the eighth consecutive month of year-on-year sales growth for GM in Canada it did just that.
