Small SUV Sales In Canada – June 2017

The Kia Sportage faired impressively in its sector in what was the second best month for of Canadian sales for the Korean brand. Elswhere for Small SUVs & Crossovers, large gains made by a few manufacturers balanced out a less prosperous month for the majority, keeping year to date figures ahead of this point in 2016 despite a drop in sales for June.

Some of those losses may be attributable to an increase in sales of Subcompact SUVs & Crossovers, with buyers possibly attracted to the lower running costs of these vehicles. Sales in this segment are 14.7% ahead of last year’s year-to-date, with Mazda, Honda and Nissan fairing well in June’s sales.

You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly Canadian auto sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBC’s Sales Stats page. GCBC isn’t here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better. This explains why you’ll see the Encore and XV Crosstrek are listed with small cars, too, and the pricey FJ Cruiser and Xterra with midsizers, as well… because readers have wanted it both ways. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts.
