Let down by a Cadillac Escalade slide and the continued decline of the Lincoln Navigator, soon to be replaced, category-wide sales fell by more than 1000 units in April 2017. Mercedes-Benz GLS sales decreased, as well, as did sales of low-volume nameplates such as the Lexus LX, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and Toyota Land Cruiser.

The Land Rover Range Rover posted a 26% April uptick. Range Rover sales rose 17% in 2017's first four months.
