In February 2016, for a fourth consecutive month, America's most popular SUV/crossover was the Toyota RAV4, sales of which jumped 16% to 25,523 units.

The perennial favourite, Honda's CR-V, was only 273 sales behind.

In fact, only 3962 sales separated the top five contenders. Through the first two months of 2016, the five best-selling SUVs and crossovers in America are separated by only 8074 units.

The top-selling three-row vehicle in America is the Ford Explorer, America's fourth-ranked utility vehicle in February and the fifth-ranked so far this year. Detroit marques claimed seven of the top 11 positions; 11 of the top 20.

Ford's two-row Edge, reviewed by GCBC yesterday, posted the greatest year-over-year percentage gain of any SUV/CUV in the top 20. There were no subcompact crossovers to crack the top 20.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs and crossovers can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well.
