This, you might say, is a test.
It’s a test of your willingness to take possession of U.S. auto sales figures on your own computer. Or, at the very least, in the cloud.
By clicking this link – or this one, if you prefer to download through Dropbox – you’ll be taken to a Google Drive spreadsheet which showcases September 2015 and year-to-date U.S. sales figures for every premium automaker for which numbers are available. There’s year-over-year information, market share figures, the breakdown between car sales and “light truck” sales, totals for Ferrari and Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce, even a breakdown of Audi A4 sedan and Allroad numbers.
And it’s free for the taking. Not only are you permitted to peruse the data in Google Drive, but you can download the information in whatever format you like just by clicking: File, Download As, and selecting Excel or PDF or a number of other formats.
Just the premium auto brands? Again, this is a test. Depending on the interest we see among readers who wish to access these figures for themselves – away from GCBC’s All Vehicle Rankings page and sales tracking pages and brand rankings pages – we’ll either move rapidly toward a pay-per-download program with way more data per spreadsheet and very low pricing. Think iTunes-like costs.
Or, we’ll just continue providing web-based solutions for tens of thousands of readers each month.
Again, all you need to do is click the link for Google Drive; this link for Dropbox. There’s no trickery, no charge, no time limits, no maximum downloads, no special sign-ins or attempts to acquire your email address.
