It was sufficiently attractive - or at least sufficiently satisfactory in a sufficient number of other ways to overcome its stylistic shortcomings – to attract 2812 new owners in January 2015.

The NX's bigger brother wasn't hindered whatsoever by the NX's relative popularity. RX sales jumped 17% in January - it's routinely America's top-selling luxury SUV/crossover. The NX, meanwhile, outsold established players like the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLK, and Volvo XC60 as well as newer small utilities like the Lincoln MKC.

The MKC owned 8.9% of its category in January 2015, down from 10.5% in September 2014,  12.7% in October 2014, 11.4% in November 2014, and 9.2% in December 2014.

Meanwhile, the Acura RDX and Audi Q5 continue to be the top dogs among small luxury utility vehicles.

These tables are now sortable, so you can rank luxury SUVs and crossovers any which way you like. Suggestions on how GCBC should break down segments can be passed on through the Contact page.

GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better. This explains you'll see the XC70 listed with luxury cars as well as with SUVs and crossovers and the Touareg with luxury SUVs and mainstream SUVs... because readers have wanted it both ways. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts.

  1. There are a lot of vulgar chimps with money (Mostly trustfunders and tax-taker gubbermint parasites) in the USA so NX sales is not surprising.

  2. The Encore in Leather or Premium with AWD is priced similarly discounted just under $30,000 like the BMW X1 can be had for. The GLA and Q3 are slightly more expensive in the low $30's.
