2013 Audi Q5
Canadian sales of the Ford Escape increased in 2014 for the second consecutive year to record-breaking levels. The Escape, Canada's top-selling SUV/crossover, outsold the second-ranked Honda CR-V by 14,514 units despite trailing the CR-V in both November and December.

Like the Escape – and the third-ranked Toyota RAV4 and fourth-ranked Nissan Rogue - broke its own sales record in the 2014 calendar year. The 25 vehicles shown here accounted for just under one-quarter of all new vehicle sales in Canada in 2014. The Escape, CR-V, RAV4, and Rogue alone generate 8% of the country's automotive sales activity, up from 7% in 2013.

Three of Canada's 25 top-selling utility vehicles wear premium badges. The top-ranked Lexus RX, Canada's 22nd-best-selling SUV/crossover overall, scored a narrow 51-unit victory over the 23rd-ranked Audi Q5. Acura's RDX was more than 1300 sales back of the increasingly popular Audi.

Historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these best-selling SUVs can always be accessed through the dropdown menu at GCBC's Sales Stats page, and for those not viewing the mobile version of this site, near the top right of this page, as well. GoodCarBadCar has already published the list of Canada's best-selling trucks, will soon publish the list of Canada's best-selling cars in 2014, and has also posted December-specific editions.

Prefer to think of the Subaru Outback as an SUV and not a car? If so, it would have ranked 21st in Canadian sales in 2014, rather than ranking 25th among cars. The Toyota Venza would have ranked 24th with 7610 sales; the Subaru XV Crosstrek 25th with 6922.

Does it matter if it's an F-150 250 or 350 compared to the GM/Chevy 1500 2500 or 3500? The Silverado and the Sierra are the same damn truck except the GM version costs more
