July 2013 U.S. Vehicle Sales Rankings - Top 261 Best-Selling Vehicles In America - Every Vehicle Ranked

2014 Nissan LEAF red
Ranked 142nd: The Nissan Leaf
From 124,900 units at the halfway point, the Ford F-Series expanded its lead over the Chevrolet Silverado to 143,269 units at the end of July 2013.

These two trucks are only two of 261 vehicles ranked by U.S. year-to-date sales in the lengthy list below, but they are the top two, and together they account for nearly eight out of every 100 vehicles sold in America.

America's two top-selling cars, the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, are responsible for 5% of the market's volume. The two top utility vehicles bring in just under 4% of all buyers. Although it seems very clear that the Ford F-Series will end 2013 as the best-selling truck and best-selling vehicle in America, and while it's hard to believe that the Toyota Camry won't do the same in the car arena, the Ford Escape's lead now seems tenuous.

Now at 5980 units, the gap built between the Ford and Honda CR-V was closed by 4883 units in July alone, as CR-V sales shot up 33% and Escape growth slowed to a below-average pace.

2011 Chevrolet Volt red
The 143rd-Ranked Chevrolet Volt Will Undoubtedly
Sell More Often Once GM Cuts Its Price By $5000
Speaking of rapid growth, the Chevrolet Cruze experienced a 70% jump in July, enough for it to climb from the 13th spot at the end of June to the twelfth position at the end of July, 7587 sales ahead of its most pertinent rival, the Ford Focus.

The Hyundai Elantra moved up from 15th to 14th, trading places with the Chevrolet Equinox, which posted a year-over-year decline after 18 consecutive monthly increases.

Having now been on sale for two months, the Fiat 500L climbed 16 spots to 223rd. The similarly-new Jaguar F-Type climbed three spots. Among vehicles which were on sale in all of 2012, the gains reported by Porsche's Cayman and Boxster and Nissan's Leaf and Pathfinder are the greatest. Among continuing vehicles, the declines posted by Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Scion iQ, Infiniti EX, Volvo S80 are worst.

2013 Scion FR-S
The 144th-Ranked Scion FR-S Sells
Nearly As Often As The Leaf And Volt
These are year-to-date rankings, but you can sort vehicles by July volume by clicking the July 2013 column header, or you can rank vehicles by improvements or declines using the % columns. Or, most importantly, you can list automakers together by selecting the Vehicle column header. Just remember, the list is horizontally flipped from the norm: YTD on the left, monthly data on the right.

As always, you can find historical monthly and yearly sales figures for any of these vehicles by selecting a make and model at GCBC's Sales Stats page.

Red font indicates year-over-year declining sales
Italicized unranked lines are nothing more than available breakdowns, already included in the model's total, not in addition to the model's total.
Sales data for brands such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maybach, Rolls-Royce etc. are unfortunately not broken down by model. ANDC estimates say sales for those brands in the first seven months of 2013 were 483, 1134, 322, 154, zero, and 588, respectively. HybridCars.com estimates that Tesla Model S sales totalled 12,200 units through six months, which would be good enough to place it in the top 145 overall. Total Maserati and Bentley volume is reported, but not by specific models.
* Total Toyota Prius family sales down 0.1% to 143,508 in 2013, up 40% to 23,294 in June.

  2. Tesla doesn't provide monthly U.S. sales figures.
