Small And Midsize Luxury SUV Sales Figures In Canada - June 2013 YTD

2013 Lexus RX350 grey
With a 68% year-over-year increase, the BMW X3 took a large bite out of the Lexus RX's year-to-date Canadian sales lead in June 2013. RX sales fell 5.8% as the RX450h slid 46.5% to 46 units. With six months remaining in 2013, the RX is now 99 sales ahead of the BMW.

Ignoring their premium status - the Lexus starts at a reasonable $44,950 but rises to $71,950 in fully-optioned RX450h trim; the BMW starts at $42,800 - the RX and X3 are Canada's 20th and 22nd-best-selling utility vehicles in Canada so far this year. They both sell more often than the Nissan Pathfinder, Honda Pilot, and GMC Acadia.

The Range Rover Evoque is now Land Rover's most popular model. And while its stunning design might make it seem as though you're seeing Evoques everywhere, you're seeing many more Audi Q5s and Mercedes-Benz GLKs, not to mention RX350s and X3s.

Acura posted its first year-over-year decrease in RDX sales since March 2012. Infiniti JX volume slowed for the first time in the model's history, which is only three year-over-year comparisons long. Mercedes-Benz M-Class slid for the ninth consecutive month.

You can click any model name in the tables below to find historical monthly and yearly Canadian sales data. You can also select a make and model at GCBC's Sales Stats page. These tables are now sortable, so you can rank luxury SUVs and crossovers any which way you like. Suggestions on how GCBC should break down segments can be passed on through the Contact page.

GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better, right? This explains you'll see the XC70 listed with luxury cars as well as with SUVs and crossovers and the Touareg with luxury SUVs and mainstream SUVs... because readers have wanted it both ways. You can always find the sales results for EVERY vehicle and form your own competitive sets by using the All Vehicle Rankings posts.
