After the month of January saw the Mazda 3 surge out to an early lead in Canadian auto sales, the Honda Civic is chewing away at that 604-sale deficit in February. “Back on top” isn’t a strange place for the Honda Civic to find itself in Canada – it was the country’s favourite car in 2009.

February Sales Stats bear out Canada’s love for small cars. Not a single vehicle on this list could be called anything other than small or compact or subcompact. There’s no Nissan Altima this time around (as there was in January) and no Toyota Venza, either. Most prominent midsize competitors, vehicles like the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Malibu, and Hyundai Sonata, find themselves in the Top 20; not good enough to land a spot in the Graph below of the Top 10 Best-Selling Cars in Canada.

surprised the Cobalt hit the top ten, but I guess they are trying to clear them out before the new Cruze hits the dealers.

wonder how many of those civics are SI's, hybrids, and coupes

Civics might not be the newest model but it's still an excellent car with more driving "excitement" than the Corolla, Elantra, Focus, and Cobalt. Maybe more than the Golf, and nearly on par with the 3.

For my money, the Hyundai Elantra was a MUCH better choice. Made much tighter than Corolla and not as cheap looking. Civic is way overpriced for someone looking for a second car( like myself) or as a primary commute for anyone.

Inside Info – I bought a civic last month and the car is very nice but… too costly for the basic sedan, highest insurance rate out of all sedans, im gonna get rid of it after 3-5 years. 2011+ Hyundai sonata or elantra is my next secondary car. Heard too much goods things about the 2011 Hyundai's take my word for it, they are amazing cars with 84 months no payments no interest and Hyundai and Kia are the only car makers in the world that offer 5 YEAR BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY.
